Is everyone welcome?

At GracePoint, you won't be met with shame, guilt, or condemnation. No matter what you’ve been through or what questions you might have, our church is a place where you'll find the grace, mercy, and forgiveness Jesus gives to everyone. Everyone is welcome at GracePoint except for known predators, those who are disruptive, or those who have adversarial agendas.

What if I’m not sure if I believe in God?

Don’t worry about having doubts about Christianity or about fitting in. And, if you’re afraid you might get struck by lightning because you walked into a church, trust me, you’re not the only one to feel that way. And it hasn’t happened yet.

What kinds of people go to GracePoint?

Hundreds and hundreds of people walk through the doors of GracePoint every single week. And they are all different. Different ages. Different colors. Different backgrounds. Tattoos. Soccer moms. Grandpas. Kids. And everything in between. We love that about GP! That is exactly the way God designed the church to be. We love seeing the older and the younger together. Un-churched.  Super-churched. Re-churched. All in one place. It is simply amazing. We believe group life is the best way to bring all of this diversity together. Not just singles together. Not just genders together. Not just churched together. But, rather, the blending of journeys, races and ages - the way God designed the church to be.

Why are you so “casual” compared to some more traditional churches?

It is important to us that new people and visitors feel comfortable and at home when they come. Many "unchurched" people feel uncomfortable in some more traditional churches where they need to dress up in suit, tie, etc in order to fit in. We want people to feel that they can come as they are, wearing what they feel comfortable in and know that they'll be welcomed as they are and won't feel they stick out like a sore thumb! The atmosphere is purposely casual so that everyone can feel comfortable, relaxed and welcome.

Why do you do church so differently?

Fortunately, God didn’t give us one “right” way to “do” church. Some ways have become ingrained over the years but that doesn’t make them right; they are just traditions that have worked for some people. But we’re not those people, and we need to find new ways that work for us.

Do you offer anything for children?

You will be blown away by how awesome our children’s area is! It’s like a local Disney World. We believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud and good leaders always care. Join the fun and experience a world where kids meet Jesus on their level! All children (infants 6 weeks old through 5th grade) attend GP Kids each Sunday! We are so passionate about kids learning about Jesus in a way they can understand. From start to finish, we strive to make your time with us a great experience. Your kids will learn God’s truths at levels appropriate for their age. We seek to make this your child’s favorite day of the week, so we use skilled volunteers, technology, fun activities, and excellent environments to communicate the truth of our loving God. Your children will beg you to bring them back!

I heard that GracePoint is a non-denominational church. What does that mean?

It means that we are not affiliated with a denomination, such as Baptist, Methodist, etc. In organizing this church, our desire was to be an attractive environment for those who do not regularly attend church. We feel that denominational titles mean more to people who already attend church than to people who don’t. We have discovered that there are more disadvantages to a denominational title than there are advantages.

I don’t believe in God, am I still welcome?

Yup. But we do hope you’re open to exploring, and to the idea that maybe there is a God and maybe He’s worth knowing.

You say you’re a church for people who don’t like church, but I’m a Christian from another church. Can I come to GracePoint?

Of course! But, there’s a chance you won’t like it. We need seasoned Christians to be a part of our mission. We can’t lead people into a growing relationship with God without committed believers.

Why don’t you have adult Sunday school classes?

Instead of providing adult Sunday school classes on Sunday mornings in the church building, we provide small group environments, called small groups, that meet at a variety of times during the week in people’s homes. We believe the small group is the best place for sustained life change to occur. In a small group, people study God’s Word together and are in a small enough environment to discuss the issues and challenges of life. It’s also where they pray and care for one another and where they are missed if they don’t show up. They are the places where people are personally encouraged and challenged in their relationships with God and each other.

How is GracePoint organizationally structured?

Ultimately the head of GracePoint is Jesus Christ. As an organization, we seek to reflect His priorities in all we do and how we do it. No decision is ever made that would knowingly contradict any of Jesus’ teaching.

GracePoint is staff-led, elder-protected, and volunteer driven. The Lead Pastor leads the overall vision and strategy for GP, along with leading the Executive Team. Our Executive Team is the main team for over-all decisions for the church. This team currently consists of six staff members. They oversee the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church. All of the staff, both Executive Team members and Associate Staff are entrusted in their specific ministry area to lead GracePoint. Much freedom and trust is given to each staff member in their specific role. We also have elders which exists to protect the vision and mission by providing wisdom, prayer, insight and spiritual encouragement.

Is GracePoint a cult?

Nah, not so much. Sorry if you’re all into cults, but we’re not one. Cults tell you what to believe, take away your freedom and forbid you to leave. At GracePoint, you’re welcome no matter what you believe, we want you to experience freedom, and you’re free to leave whenever you want. Plus, cults are never funny, and we are freakin’ hysterical!
